Gas and Oil Regulatory Advisory Panel
GAS AND OIL REGULATORY ACTION
In the fall of 2013, DMME initiated a regulatory action in its Division of Gas and Oil. A Notice of Intended Regulatory Action was published in the Virginia Register of Regulations on January 13, 2014. The notice indicated that DMME would review its existing Gas and Oil Regulation to determine whether ingredients used in hydraulic fracturing should be disclosed, to review existing best practices, and to determine whether additional requirements are necessary for drilling in different regions of the Commonwealth.
To assist in this process, DMME appointed a Regulatory Advisory Panel consisting of a wide variety of stakeholders to make recommendations in these areas. The panel will conduct its meetings over the course of June, July, and August 2014. These meetings are open to the public. This page will provide information regarding the time and location of the meetings and will be updated periodically. DMME also maintain an e-mail list to notify interested parties of upcoming meetings. If you would like to be added to the list, click here.
