Virginia Geologic Research Symposium
The purpose of the Symposium is to highlight recent advances in our understanding of Virginia’s geology. Attendees include geologists from academia, state and federal agencies, and private consulting firms, as well as K-12 teachers and interested citizens.
We will host our 9th Geological Research Symposium April 20, 2017 at Division of Geology and Mineral Resources office in Charlottesville. The Division of Geology and Mineral Resources hosts this event annually.
We’re planning to have twelve oral presentations over the course of the day focusing on recent research in structural geology, groundwater, karst, and other geological topics. In addition, there will be posters and breakout sessions. We’ll start with coffee and snacks at 8:00 a.m. and begin the technical program at 8:30. We’ll take an hour lunch break at noon and finish up around 5 p.m.
Registration is FREE, but I ask that you please register in advance so we know how many people to expect. You can register here:
